Afterward, I had the opportunity to study beauty in Canada, where I pursued courses in aesthetics and hairstyling.

Being in a foreign land and learning something new, I knew I couldn’t expect to master everything right away. Despite that, there were times when I became frustrated with my English, which wasn’t as fluent as my native Korean, and I would cry on my way home. There were also days when I received a love confession from a student who had been eyeing me during class, and I became the center of attention at school. On another day, I was praised as someone “born to do aesthetics and hair,” known for my steady hands. Yet another day, during a volunteer visit, I encountered people who, due to their financial struggles, didn’t have the time or opportunity to care for their own beauty. Through beauty, I was able to remind them of their inherent dignity as human beings. This experience helped me realize what I wanted to do with my life, and I became more certain about the path I would take.

After completing a two-year program at the school, I submitted my resume and interviewed for employment at famous beauty salons and skincare centers. The interviews were conducted in English, and it was my first time facing such an experience. I don’t even remember how I answered the questions, but what I do remember is my genuine desire to work there. The entire process felt like a dream.

At that time, I didn’t realize that the Lord was preparing a different path for me, one hidden from my view.
